One Response to “I Need to know how to put edges on quilt top and attach it to bottom layer?”
Make a “sandwich,” with your top on the table, facing up. Next add the back fabric layer, good side facing down, then the batting, or stuffing, on top.
Make sure the pieces are nicely lined up and trimmed. Sew three sides, and all but about six inches of the fourth.
Now, start turning the blanket “inside out,” through the “hole” left by the remaining unsewn six inches. The result should be the blanket showing the good sides of the front and back on the outside, with the batting on the inside.
Now sew the remaining six inches shut. I do this by hand, with a “hidden” stitch along the edge. Now the blanket is ready to quilt or add appliques.
