Hi Vee, good question!
1-when you machine quilt you will sew that basting thread into your quilt
2-removing all the basting thread takes as much time as removing pins
3-pin basting is faster than thread basting, pins are all gone when you are done
4-use a white thread. Other colors may crock onto your quilt and leave marks on your quilt
5-a FABULOUS batting by Mountain Mist called GoldFuse and WhiteGold… it fuses the layers together, no pins, no thread!
I hope this helped, let me know!
Pat,
i know it would take a lot longer – but wouldn’t a very loose set of stitches with say ‘red’ thread be easier when it comes time to do the machine quilting?
You wouldn’t need to worry about where the pins are??
