I like to shop the discounted fabrics at Hancocks of Paducah. Prices start at $2.98 a yard. You can’t always get exactly what you want – it is the discount “bin” after all – but I’ve always been able to find dozens of fabrics that I like. Shipping is reasonable, and they cut the fabric generously. It is sold in half yard increments (but off the bolt, so you get continuous pieces of fabric). The pricing is listed by half yard, so you’ll see “$1.49″ for a price instead of $2.98. Also, by buying discount fabric you might find yourself trying things you wouldn’t normally – it’s great for the creative process.

To find the discounted fabric, check at the left side of the page. You can look by brand or by theme (florals, 30’s, etc) – just click on “Discounted Quilting Fabrics” under either Themes or Brands.
